Eat & Drink
Muriel’s Kitchen – Price Tag: £ £ £ £ £
Muriel’s Kitchen based in south kensington and Leicester square. It embodies a homely feel yet is fresh and modern all at the same time. The decor is that of a Kitchen and every inch is decorated to perfection! The food is pricey but it is worth the splurge as every mouthful to me is a little piece of homely heaven. The lasagna is a must have if you go. They not only treat your taste buds with delicious home cooked food from Muriel’s Recipes but they also have a variety of cakes to tempt you.
Pierre Victoire’s – Price Tag: £ £ £ £ £
This restaurant is a little gem found off Oxford street on Dean street. The Restaurant is small and intimate, ideal for a first date or a romantic meal! They have a great offer for early diners too. I have taken many friends there as the service is great and the food well priced. It is delicious and they have a piano man playing to really create an atmosphere that will entertain, delight and create the atmosphere that makes Pierre a common favorite with locals. Booking is advised.
Lina’s Stores – Price Tag: £ £ £ £ £
Lina’s stores is an Italian delicatessen that sells superb Italian meats. Lina’s is run by an italian family that really care for their customers, everything about Lina’s screams italy and they have many repeat customers. The value for money is amazing, they do everything from meats, breads, olives to pastas and cakes . They offer a vast variety of meats which they even let you taste before buying. Lina’s has been in Soho for a number of years and it is a must on anyone’s to do list, to go, to see, to buy and to eat.
Freedom – Price Tag: £ £ £ £ £
In the heart of Soho Freedom is a gem of a place, full of wacky characters, good cocktails and a atmosphere that never fails to entertain. Freedom is exactly what you would expect in Soho, a darn good place for a Jolly time. They on many occasions have drag acts playing, performances galore to entertain punters who filter through the door. No night in Freedom is ever really the same. It’s pretty camp, one reason why I love it more, you have a new gay best friend by the end of the night. There’s a downstairs where always a hen party dancing on the poles adorning the dance floor. There’s glitter balls just to live up to the campness of Soho. In all Freedom never fails to disappoint. They always have a happy hour too, to get merrily drunk at before you hit downstairs to dance the night away.
Simmons Kings Cross
This is a gem of a bar based right outside Kings cross tube on Caledonion road. It sells cocktails in teacups and has a wicked happy hour which sells beers for under 3 pounds and 2 cocktails for a tenner. It is cute, cool and kitsch, it is your grandmas living room if your grandma was completely wicked and had a sega mega drive and a crystal skull in her lounge, the attention to detail with school desktops as tables and decorations on the wall made Simmons a unpretentious fun night out. The bar staff are lovely and sometimes the night can take fun unexpected turns, maybe your end up playing limbo with every member of the bar! It has happened 😉 go there or miss out.
They now have places in Camden and Chelsea but Kings cross remains my fav.
